My first trip out with the camera in 2018! We live on the Eastern side of Fuerteventura, so will easily get photographs of the sunrise, but don’t tend to drive in the dark, so sunsets are harder to get!
El Cotillo is a beautiful old fishing village in the North West of the island, so you can get some spectacular sunsets. Our friends, John and Elaine, were kind enough to drive us up there especially to see the sunset!
After visiting the centre of the village, and stopping to have some delicious cakes, we went on out to the lighthouse. There is no real beach as such there, just a sandy lava field. We weren’t the only ones to go and watch the sunset there, but the people enhanced my photographs!
A calima (dusty, sandy wind from the Sahara) had been with us for a few days and was still just slightly hanging around, but, as you can see from the photographs, that didn’t detract from the photographs, and the colours of the sunset and the sea were spectacular!
