Under the Hood
The fact is that I’m truly not that good at taking photos, and this one was no exception! I took it back in January 2015 when on holiday in Cyprus. Obviously, I took the photo into direct sunlight without making any allowances for over exposure. I had the camera on aperture priority at f13, with ISO at 100. Consequently the image was over exposed, everything was washed out and there was literally no sky to salvage at all. Most photographers would have dismissed and deleted this photo had they taken it! But nevertheless I did actually quite like the composition. So I set to work on in my digital darkroom, lowering the exposure, bringing out the shadows and adding layers to give texture, light and colour. I hope you like the final image!
