Flamingo Sunset

Flamingo Sunset

“A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.” Charley Harper

In May 2006, I was honoured to judge Canaan Dogs in San Diego. Whilst there we visited the zoo, and the original photo was taken there. In doing this piece, I wanted a painting that could be hung on the walls of our recently decorated winter snug, and so wanted the base colour of red. I don’t usually do my artwork in a square, but I felt that this piece just lent itself to that shape.
